How much ice will that add to Greenland?
Hmmm, well, I found a source stating that 10 inches of snow typically equals 1 inch of solid water. Ice is solid water, but expands slightly as compared to the same volume of liquid water. 5 feet is about 60 inches, so 5 feet of snow should yield approximately 6 inches of new ice on the glaciers, or maybe a little more depending on whether the expansion as it freezes takes place more vertically or laterally.
Of course, since glacier ice typically forms from compression, rather than strictly melting and refreezing, there may be additional inclusions of air in the ice that forms, making it even thicker.
At any rate, it seems this snowicane itself could add half a foot of new glacier ice.
