The fact that they did this one drone strike after the bombing, with zero additional follow-up or shared intel, tells me all I need to know; this was a strike based on iffy intel, but approved by the White House because they wanted to *appear* as having done something. I don't think they actually give a rat's ass - it's all for appearances sake.

The New York Times published the results of an investigation on Friday that suggests the Biden administration targeted an innocent man who worked for a U.S. organization in a drone strike that killed several civilians. If true, the airstrike could constitute a violation of international law governing such targeted killings in wartime — in other words, a war crime.

It is pretty clear that all that was a lie. There was no secondary explosion. The small courtyard is intact surrounding the car they blew up.

They killed 10 innocent people for political cover. And no one will be held accountable.

U.N. Staff in Afghanistan ‘Fear for Their Lives’ After Taliban Takeover

United Nations (U.N.) staff members in Afghanistan are facing increased incidents of “harassment and intimidation” by members of the Taliban since the terror group seized power of the country last month, U.N. special envoy to Afghanistan Deborah Lyons said Thursday, adding that some U.N. personnel “fear for their lives.”

“We are … increasingly worried by the growing number of incidents of harassment and intimidation against our national staff,” Lyons told the U.N. Security Council during a press briefing in New York City on September 9.

Lyons said that while the U.N. assistance mission in Afghanistan “will continue to do everything possible to support our staff and keep them from harm’s way,” the team “cannot conduct its work — work that is so essential to the Afghan people — if its personnel are subjected to intimidation, fear for their lives, and cannot move freely.”
