Job No. 1 for GOP: Try to stop Bernie’s $3.5 trillion monstrosity

How radical is the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion monstrous spending bill?

Well, it’s not only the single most expensive legislation in American history, it may well be the most far-reaching expansion of the welfare state as well. Democrats have crammed pieces of virtually every one of their agenda items into the bill, including implementing parts of Green New Deal, amnesty for illegal immigrants, expanding Medicare and funding union bailouts.

It is also the first American budget bill authored by a socialist. If Senate Budget Chair Bernie Sanders gets his way, Democrats will have spent $5 trillion this year alone — more than all the money American outlays for World War II, even after adjusting the cost for inflation.

Of course, Democrats don’t have the votes needed to pass a bill using normal Senate procedures. So, they plan to bypass debate, and unilaterally cram the bill using reconciliation — a tool passed in the early 1970s as means of enacting deficit reduction. The reconciliation process only requires a simple majority. And with Democrats holding 50 Senate seats, it falls on Vice President Kamala Harris would be the tie-breaking vote. They will need every Democrat to lockstep.

LOL…

With few exceptions, all the Congressional Republicans  will do is just substitute it their own massive spending ideas

We are already seeing issues with our debt. It’s only going to get worse. The rising inflation we are now experiencing can’t just be laid at the feet of Biden.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

I'd throw 100% of any GOP efforts right now to 24/7 congressional inquires and hearings about the Afghanistan disaster.

That should keep them busy until 2022.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.
