I really doubt the politicians can escape the fact that they hired them, and that they were responsible for the outcome--especially if it benefited them or their party pals.

Other than not getting reelected, no politician will be punished for it.

As democrats cannot find any fault in democrats committing crimes. In 2-3 years time, we could easily end up where Germany was in 1936, with a mad man/woman in complete control, anyone getting in the way quickly eliminated.
