Here is the pre-takeover inventory of the Afghan air force,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_Air_Force#Inventory_before_the_2021_Taliban_offensive :
10 Cessna 208, equipped for ground attack
19 A-29 Super Tucano
1 Boeing 727
4 C-130H Hercules
24 Cessna 208, equipped for transport/utility
18 Pilatus PC-12, equipped for transport/utility
Plus some 200 helicopters, 132 of which being utility types from 4 manufacturers in 3 different countries (103 are Russian-made, possibly 1980s or 1990s leftovers).
So, yes, the Talibanders captured the Afghan air force's inventory, what was not destroyed by fighting or flown out of the country by Afghan air force pilots. But Hoft's attempt to make the Talibander's
brave new air force sound formidable is pretty pathetic. The Talibanders' only jet aircraft is the ancient lone Boeing 727 former airliner.
