Many of those are grounded for lack of spares or maintenance, just like when the NVA invaded the South, cut off by Democrats (otherwise, defending the airport would be easier, for a while). A grenade in the intakes would ensure they do not fly again.

I do not doubt for an instant the bravery of those guarding this evacuation, but the timeline is FUBAR.
I don't think they have "days"(plural) to evacuate.
