‘We Are Powerless’: Joe Biden Official Deletes Social Media Post Admitting Failure in Afghanistan

Charlie Spieringb13 Aug 2021

A senior Biden official at the State Department expressed sadness Friday that the administration was “powerless” to protect women and girls in Afghanistan from the Taliban.

Deputy Assistant Secretary in the State Department Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Molly Montgomery shared her thoughts on Twitter early Friday morning after reports demonstrated the swiftness of the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

“Woke up with a heavy heart, thinking about all the Afghan women and girls I worked with during my time in Kabul,” she wrote on her personal account. “They were the beneficiaries of many of the gains we made, and now they stand to lose everything.”

An admission of failure.  The entire Biden administration is nothing but a failure, and it hasn't even been a full year, yet.

Lets not forget to blame our "esteemed" military leadership. They had 20 years to train and equip an Afghanistan Army and at the first sign of trouble they cut and run.

It appears that you choose to hold our military to blame for a lack of courage in the Afghanis...no sale.

I do believe our military holds a lot of the blame. In 20 years they couldn't build up and train a real fighting force and they did not alert the US leadership that there was no will to fight among the Afghani's.

Our military leadership is an embarrassment and worse may be so ineffective the defense of the nation may be at risk.

A simple internet search belies your claims...it's a cultural problem, not a US military problem.

From the 2nd article:
Cohesion
Application of Castillo’s theory of military cohesion to both the Taliban and the ANDSF shows the former to be a more cohesive fighting force than the ANDSF. This theoretical conclusion is supported by independent analyses of the Taliban in the context of theories of insurgency cohesion, as well as by observations of ANDSF manpower trends. Assessment: Strong Taliban advantage.

Nonsense.

The military leadership of the USA had 20 years to alert us to the fact that they couldn't train and equip a real Afghan military force. Instead they lied and promoted their own interests. The military industrial complex is just as much of a part of the swamp as the civilians in DC. If they are not going to be held accountable for their gross incompetence we will get more of the same.
