Lets not forget to blame our "esteemed" military leadership. They had 20 years to train and equip an Afghanistan Army and at the first sign of trouble they cut and run.
It appears that you choose to hold our military to blame for a lack of courage in the Afghanis...no sale.
I do believe our military holds a lot of the blame. In 20 years they couldn't build up and train a real fighting force and they did not alert the US leadership that there was no will to fight among the Afghani's. Our military leadership is an embarrassment and worse may be so ineffective the defense of the nation may be at risk.
A simple internet search belies your claims...it's a cultural problem, not a US military problem.https://www.brookings.edu/zh-cn/opinions/the-afghan-army-finally-a-fighting-force/https://ctc.usma.edu/afghanistans-security-forces-versus-the-taliban-a-net-assessment/From the 2nd article:CohesionApplication of Castillo’s theory of military cohesion to both the Taliban and the ANDSF shows the former to be a more cohesive fighting force than the ANDSF. This theoretical conclusion is supported by independent analyses of the Taliban in the context of theories of insurgency cohesion, as well as by observations of ANDSF manpower trends. Assessment: Strong Taliban advantage.
