Biden’s light schedule under scrutiny, calls early lid before noon: ‘Good thing nothing important is going on’

Biden and the White House called an early lid before noon on Monday following a daily presidential briefing at 10 a.m. and the President then proceeded to continue to relax at his home in Delaware as if nothing important was going on.

“It is Monday, before noon, and President Biden/the White House have called a lid at 11:27 am,” conservative commentator Katie Pavlich reported.

“The White House has called a travel pool lid at 11:27,” the White House pool report stated. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also wasn’t scheduled to give a briefing on Monday afternoon as she usually does. Biden reportedly spent all weekend at his Wilmington, Delaware home.

Many found it curious that Biden would be so lackadaisical concerning national matters. There are so many things going on that it is baffling as to why Biden would just call it a day before noon. Early lids are commonplace in the Biden administration.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday that President Biden won’t release visitor logs from his Delaware residences, despite making 17 trips home in six months.

The decision comes despite the Biden administration’s claim to "restore transparency and trust in government" — including with the resumption of limited release of White House visitor logs.

"I can confirm we are not going to be providing information about the comings and goings of the president’s grandchildren or people visiting him in Delaware," Psaki said at her daily press briefing in response to a question from The Post about whether Biden would release visitor logs, including of relatives with potential conflicts of interest. ...

Tom Fitton, president of the conservative group Judicial Watch, told The Post that the policy "makes a mockery" of White House claims of visitor log transparency.

"It’s an easy way to bypass the alleged transparency they’re promising," Fitton said.

"If they’re going to take the position that this information should be public, what are they hiding when it comes to visiting his home? The presidency doesn’t stop when he’s visiting Delaware," Fitton added. ...

Presidents can pick and choose what they reveal about visitor logs thanks to a federal appeals court ruling that Attorney General Merrick Garland wrote as a judge in 2013.

Garland wrote for a three-judge panel that the president’s constitutional right to confidential communications means that the Freedom of Information Act doesn’t apply to visitor logs held by the Secret Service. ...

The above story concludes: The Trump White House used Garland’s ruling to scrap the disclosure of logs. Then-White House communications director Michael Dubke said the decision was made in part due to "the grave national security risks and privacy concerns of the hundreds of thousands of visitors annually."
