AR-15 owners may have to submit fingerprints, register guns and more under new House bill

Nine Democrat members of Congress, led by Florida’s Ted Deutch, introduced legislation (H.R.4953) Friday in the House of Representatives to amend the National Firearms Act to include “any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine,” such as the popular AR-15.

The move would force owners to be put on a federal registry, submit fingerprints, photos, notify law enforcement officers and wait over nine months for approval, as well as pay a $200 tax, in accordance with National Firearms Act requirements.

The bill comes as David Chipman, a retired Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agent and current President Joe Biden nominee to head the agency, continues to face scrutiny in Congress.

I wonder if the Owners of Ruger 10-22s are affected as it also has a "detachable magazine".

They just keep pushing, don't they?

They treat criminals like honest citizens, and honest citizens like criminals.

It is almost as though they wanted to provoke an explosion...

Well, not "almost".

Have you figured out yet what our elites are up to?

They turn the looters free, and prosecute the property owners who seek to defend themselves.

They normalize perversion, and yet forbid the peaceful practice of faith in public spaces.

They change the meaning of plain language, and tear down monuments to heroes.

They open the borders to invaders, and shutter schools to true learning.

They terrify the public into sheltering in place, while obeying no such restrictions themselves.

They infiltrate and then control social and governmental institutions, and then convert once-diverse missions to the singular pursuit of uniformity of thought.

It is a revolution in slow motion, and we had damn well better realize that we're in one, before we lose it.

Go ahead, put me on a list, you bastards. But you are never getting my freedom.

That's one thing about Liberals that most GOP politicians don't get.  Dems never....eeeeever...take a step backwards in their quest for total domination over us. They just keep marching forward and when one piece of legislation fails or gets struck down by the courts they just put another one out there and continue to move forward.

THey will continue to chip away around the edges until they've accomplished their end goal...and that's to abolish the 2nd Amendment.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

Of course. It's one of those icky "gun things",ain't it?.

Step two will be bringing in the magazines to a BATF office to have serial numbers stamped on them. After all,who knows when the magazines would get mad at the their "mothers" ,the guns being confiscated, and go on a shooting rage themselves?

They're not getting any of my BX-25 Ruger magazines, either. Only one round at a time.

Even if they abolish the Amendment, that does not abolish the RKBA. THe Amendment does not grant a Right, it tells the Government to keep its power hungry meathooks off that Right. Many will see that as the indicator that it is time. It just proves those who wrote the amendment were spot on.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
