Christianity is now the latest victim of hate, targeted by George Floyd, BLM and Antifa vandals across the US as the world's most powerful nation reals, crippled with hatred, ugliness, viciousness and nastiness, fuelled by a political quagmire of backbiting, lying, corruption, disloyalty and cheating. Statue wars have come to Christianity, statues of Jesus have been vandalised and churches defaced with sick satanic and antichrist symbols across the US as the vandals turn their hate to religion. Multiple churches have been ‘burned and vandalized’ across the US as cops investigate possible links to statue protests. Houses of worship are being burned after George Floyd's police custody death in Minneapolis on May 25, which sparked widespread outrage and anti-racism rallies. Black Lives Matter activist Shaun King urged demonstrators to "tear" down Jesus Christ statues and murals because he said they are "a form of white supremacy" on Twitter. Full story

Russia jailing Christians for owning Watchtower magazines

In Russia being a Jehovah's Witness is now a crime. Not wanting to be exposed by law enforcement agencies, the "suspects" (Jehovah's Witnesses) are being rounded up and imprisoned for hiding activities, (Bible meetings and Bible studies, storing reporting and other documentation in electronic form, (Watchtower magazines and Bile text) organized groups and used video conferencing for collective meetings (payer and study meetings). All building belonging to the Witnesses (Kingdom Halls) in Russia have been annexed by the government.

Yevgeniy Spirin, a Jehovah's Witness is facing a 7-year jail sentence for organizing the activities of an “extremist” organization, (Bible meetings).

Dennis Christensen, a Danish national living in Russia, was arrested in 2017 and prosecuted for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of religion. In February 2019, Dennis Christensen was sentenced to six years in a penal colony for “organizing the activities of an extremist organization.” Being a Jehovah's Witness. Full story

Police launch arson probe over inferno at Nantes cathedral after blaze was sparked near organ inside 1434 gothic church

Police have launched an arson investigation after an inferno broke out at Nantes Cathedral this morning which took 104 firefighters to control. 

Smoke was seen billowing out of the 15th-century structure in France as emergency services desperately tried to extinguish the inferno which is believed to have started at the cathedral's organ.

Prosecutor Pierre Sennes said three fires had been started at the site and authorities were treating the incident as a criminal act. He gave no other details.  ... Daily Mail

While believers around the world pray for an end to the chaos, arsonists, knife-wielders, and vandals are taking the battle to them.

After a string of attacks rocked U.S. churches last week, Americans gathered this Sunday with the hope that things might finally calm down. They didn’t. If anything, the insurgents expanded their campaign to the global scene.

Arson in Paris, excrement along church walls in southern France, statues defaced in Calgary, it all points to a dangerous turning point in this mob mentality.  ...

I’d like to take a moment, if the reader will permit me, to address those who are behind the rash of church burnings and vandalism in France, the United States, and elsewhere.

There has been quite a lot of this sort of thing in recent months, such as that which occurred at Nantes Cathedral earlier this week, destroying the 400-year old organ as well as a number of Renaissance stained glass windows. Many other examples have gone unreported by the “mainstream” media, as well as by the art media world that I follow. Perhaps it’s because they secretly (or not-so-secretly) agree with the idea of iconoclasm when it comes to sacred art and architecture.

Part of the problem, of course, is that evidenced in this piece, in which the reaction of Archbishop Georges Pontier, head of the French bishops’ conference, to this sort of vandalism is to say, “We do not want to develop a discourse of persecution. We do not wish to complain.”

Of course not.

Most Catholic bishops are rather spineless, utterly uninspiring ninnies, who are primarily interested in being popular – or at least, being well-thought of – rather than in protecting their flock and their patrimony. ...

A volunteer at Nantes Cathedral has told police that he lit three fires inside the 15th-century building he was entrusted to look after by church authorities.  ...

An arson investigation was launched almost immediately after the two-hour battle by firefighters to save the building, and shortly afterwards a Rwandan immigrant — who was a volunteer at the cathedral and had been responsible for locking up the building the night before — was held and questioned by police. The man was released without charge shortly afterwards.  ...

But now the same — named only as ‘Emmanuel’ in French newspapers — 39-year-old man has been rearrested and has confessed, Le Figaro reports, to arson. The man, who came to France as a refugee from Rwanda in 2015 or 2016 and was looked after by the church after his arrival, told a magistrate after presenting himself to the police to confess on Saturday night that he lit three fires. Two were in organs, and one was in an electrical control panel.

Taken into police custody, the man faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of €150,000 ($175,000) for the destruction. he caused.

The motive of the attack is unknown. By the account of the cathedral’s rector the Rwandan male had volunteered at the church for some years and served at altar. ...
