There're reports of lockdowns beginning to come out of China now. Right in time with similar threats coming from the Biden administration. Its all being coordinated.
Back in 2020, when they finally did it, China locked down way tighter than any US state. It limited the spread of Covid, but also limited the spread of recovery immunity in the population. Throw in the less than enthusiastic acceptance of the inactivated virus vaccines from Sinopharm and Sinovac whose effectiveness also appears to be poor, and China is likely to be vulnerable to outbreaks for quite a while (and have had a number over the past year).
