This test is NOT being withdrawn for any reason other than that the CDC introduced a newer test that tests for three different viruses and gives separate results for each virus.  .  .  .
.  .  .  The OP article is entirely false.

The O-P offers no opinion on the CDC's reason for pulling the test.  It only offers the premise that the test was fraudulent (which it was).  There are effectively three claims advanced by the O-P:

  • The CDC is discontinuing the test

  • The test is fraudulent in that it generates false positives

  • The CDC has operated in bad faith.

I find all three of these claims to be valid.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

This test is NOT being withdrawn for any reason other than that the CDC introduced a newer test that tests for three different viruses and gives separate results for each virus. Here is the CDC announcement giving that information, https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2021/07-21-2021-lab-alert-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html .

This has zero to do with the validity of PCR tests, and there are ~280 other PCR tests for Covid authorized for use in the US by the FDA, https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/coronavirus-covid-19-update-july-30-2021 .

The OP article is entirely false.

A question for you, Mr. Pete: are you one that believes that PCR-based "testing" is valid for diagnosing a disease such as covid?  If so, what is that belief based on?

Here are the FDA instructions for CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR

The test has a cycle threshold of 40.  But last April, the CDC announced that for vaccinated patients they would only accept CTs of 28 or lower.  And no, the CDC is not offering a new test after December, but instead is requesting vendors to develop their own tests that indicate multiple diagnoses.

So the gist of the story here is that the CDC has been using an 'emergency use only' test for over a year and half - one that they knew to be too sensitive.
