Sorry... I only speak English. What does being gaslighted" mean? I stopped trying to keep up with "coolspeak" when I heard about people jumping over sharks. English is so much more clear and concise.

Gaslighting comes from the old movie “Gaslight” in the 40s.

It is supposed to mean manipulating someone to question their sanity or make them go crazy so they’ll be committed, like in the movie.

Now it’s considered psychological abuse but the end result (being committed) no longer applies.

Filling in some more info -

The movie was made in Britain around 1950.

It featured a man who was killing people
and disposing of the bodies by burning them in the gas furnace in the basement.

Every time he turned up the furnace to burn up a body,
his wife, upstairs, noticed the gas lights getting dim.

She asked him, "Why do the lights get dim sometimes?"
He kept telling her, "That's not happening. You're just imagining that."

It's like us asking, "Why are food and fuel prices suddenly rising?"
And the government and the "news" propagandists constantly telling us,
"There's no inflation. You're just imagining that."
