DOJ declares vaccine mandates legal
VA, California and NYC to require some or all government employees to get vaccinated or be tested weekly

Federal law does not prohibit public agencies and private businesses from requiring COVID-19 vaccines that are under emergency use authorization, the Department of Justice concluded in an opinion.

Three major government entities – the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, California and New York City – said Monday they would require some or all of their government employees to get vaccinated or be tested weekly. The vaccines are still awaiting full approval from the Food and Drug Administration.

"As access to the COVID-19 vaccines has become widespread, numerous educational institutions, employers, and other entities across the United States have announced that they will require individuals to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment, enrollment, participation, or some other benefit, service, relationship, or access," DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel wrote in an opinion. "For instance, certain schools will require vaccination in order for students to attend class in person, and certain employers will require vaccination as a condition of employment."

The opinion notes that some have questioned whether such entities can lawfully impose such requirements.

This made me chuckle. Biden's DOJ would declare anything Biden's puppeteers do 'legal' no matter what it is.
The DOJ only does what they are ordered to do, by whomever is really in charge right now.

The lawsuit, filed May 28 by Jennifer Bridges, RN, and 116 other workers, argued that the mandate is illegal and forces workers to get an experimental vaccine to keep their jobs.

But U.S. District Judge Lynn N. Hughes ruled June 12 that the health system did not violate state or federal law or public policy with its requirement....

Exactly. Remember that ol' separation of powers thingy that kids used to learn in Civics class? The Justice Department can't declare anything.

Rights and responsibilities were linked from the Dawn of Man till the modern era;
when "freedom" effectively pushed the latter from our consciousness.
Consider; in history, when nation/states were attacked, they usually imposed conscription,
compelling males to serve the military, in the name of the 'greater national interest'.
The opinion of those conscripted, as to the the goodness/badness of war was irrelevant.
Now reflect on our present condition.
We are engulfed by a raging pandemic whose present antidote/defense is the vaccine.
Yet what do we hear from assorted medical 'types' and political malcontents?
Why they will decide what is best for themselves regardless of any greater good!
Some truly need to get off their horse and wise up!

Exactly. Their job is to enforce the law, not decide if the law is Constitutional, not to make the law,  nor to decide if the law is within the authority of the Federal Government.
