The Rise of the Red Flyover States

LIFE ELEVATED, Utah’s state slogan, well describes the geology (high desert, mountains), the culture (adventurous), and the almost endless opportunities for outdoor recreation (world-class skiing, hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, golfing, etc.) and affirms living rather than merely existing – not bad for only two words!  Contrast this with many places struggling through the COVID and BLM hell of 2020 and beyond.

Consider someone with means spending the last year locked down in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, NYC, San Francisco, et al in a cramped apartment among a sea of cramped apartment buildings.  With edicts and “Karens” preventing enjoying even a walk in the park let alone dinner out, gathering with friends, and other old-normal activities what kind of living is that?  The only arguments for living in major urban centers (and paying the associated price) are culture, cuisine, entertainment opportunities -- and those all vanished.  Further, add nightly rioting and looting, harassment of the general public, arson, and vandalism, and the full enabling of the woke mobs doing this by the so-called leadership of these cities.  Here is the question -- why would you stay there, and who the hell would chose to move there now?

The flyover states generally, and the red ones in particular (you know who you are) tend to be low tax, low regulation, low housing cost (especially for suburban homes with yards), pro police, low crime, low regulation (especially as pertains to COVID), and people are more friendly and willing to mind their own business.  Also much less prone to riots, looting, and burning down their community and have gun laws that allow the general populace to deal with troublemakers as needed compared to the progressive urban havens.  They are also where the population growth and shift is most pronounced in the U.S. according to the recent census data and will likely continue to grow faster than the national average and far more than many blue regions.

The answer is to not open your borders to big-city denizens,it's shutting your doors to them. They created it,let them swim in it.

That map is a saver. Ya know for election nights ahead.

I am an Ohioan in a Blue town and Red state.
Dims always report us blue, so a journalist posts artwork or the editor does.

The blues were too dumb to carry out the steal in Ohio. They tried, and
delayed the start of voting to the extent of a 200 person or so line.

I worked many elections and a delay at the start is a big issue that I never
saw before. Maybe back in the good old days when we were openly run
by the mob and called Holy Toledo.


In the end, the steal in other states was enough and Ohio voters voted Red.

Iowa is doing real well in large part due to the level-headed governance of Kim Reynolds.

Working remote and homeschooling are also helping quite a bit as people can move here while still being employed in major cities outside the state.
