While it's possible that she's a pro-abortion activist or a victim of priest abuse, it seems more likely to me that she's a deranged homeless person. Hobos and bums used to have a measure of respect for ordinary things. Not so, many modern politically-sacred homeless.
Mental case or angry activist, the chances she will face consequence in NYC are probably slim and none: Slim left town; None is cloistered in a convent.
BTW, I think anti-Catholic vandalism incidents like this are wa-a-a-a-ayyyyyy more common than commonly known. External statues at the Catholic church in my original hometown were similarly toppled and damaged a couple of years ago. I doubt it even got news coverage from nearby Sacramento TV stations.
