NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio to Keep Students Masked This Fall

Kyle Olson 12 Jul 2021

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) said Monday that students will remain masked in school this Fall.

De Blasio bucked the recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and instead embraced the position of the teachers union.

“There will be a lot of communication before school and once it begins for now assume we are wearing masks,” de Blasio told reporters Monday, according to AMNY.

“But that could change as we get closer…we will be driven by the data and see what the science has to say,” he claimed.

“By the end of the school year positivity in the schools was almost non-existent… so we are going to keep a lot of those same pieces in place,” de Blasio said of the mask policy.

De Blasio did not address whether the CDC’s decision was “driven by the data” but the mayor’s position was consistent with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), the parent group to New York City’s union, the United Federation of Teachers (UFT).

Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Children in New Jersey were told the same thing. Parents and other people took to newspapers, radio stations, and calling the Governor.

He changed his mind and kids can go back without them.

I find it hard to believe the mayor has any authority over the school district. That sure isn't the case in my town or county.

Fascists doing what fascists do.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

Measles vaccination hit us years ago... should we wear masks to protect against measles?

We were vaccinated against small pox years ago. Should we wear small pox masks?

Polio was vaccinated against years ago. Should we wear polio masks?

Every year is "flu season," and every year people die. Until Covid 19, though, the government response was not to close businesses and schools, restrict travel, force healthy people to quarantine or require masks on people.

In fairness, a measles mask, small pox mask, and polio mask will be just as effective as a covid mask.

Not in NYC.  In NYC, the mayor generally has control of the public school system.
