Authorities today apprehended the main suspect who is alleged to have shot fourteen people and killed one man in the entertainment district of downtown Austin, Texas, back on June 12th.

According to KXXV, a 19-year-old named De’Ondre Jermirris White is currently in Killeen City Jail. He tried to evade arrest by cutting his hair and dying it.

However investigators compiled enough evidence from witness statements, security camera footage, and ballistic evidence to narrow it down to solely De’Ondre White. Earlier on Thursday the US Marshals, alongside the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the SWAT team of Killeen, Texas, were able to apprehend him.  ...

I wonder why US Marshals were involved in this arrest.

What federal crime was committed?

Don't know. Maybe just a cooperative effort with local law enforcement, i.e., the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

Maybe it was thought he'd go to another state.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I wonder why US Marshals were involved in this arrest.

What federal crime was committed?

The U.S. Marshals have a long history of providing assistance and expertise to other law enforcement agencies in support of fugitive investigations. The success of U.S. Marshals task force initiatives, combined with the outstanding relationships forged with other law enforcement agencies, has led to the formation of permanent fugitive task forces, as well as ad-hoc task forces in response to unique cases that pose immediate threat to the public. In 2020, U.S. Marshals Service-led fugitive task forces arrested over 77,460 federal, state and local fugitives and cleared over 90,446 warrants.

Included within the referenced document is this

SEC. 6. FUGITIVE APPREHENSION TASK FORCES.
(a) IN GENERAL.—The Attorney General shall, upon consultation with appropriate Department of Justice and Department of
the Treasury law enforcement components, establish permanent
Fugitive Apprehension Task Forces consisting of Federal, State,
and local law enforcement authorities in designated regions of the
United States, to be directed and coordinated by the United States
Marshals Service, for the purpose of locating and apprehending
fugitives.

On the face of it, unless it is a fugitive from federal law or crossing state lines, this appears clearly unconstitutional unless the state requests this assistance.

Smells like something Bill Clinton had snuck in before he went away for good.
