GORDON WELL, Calif. (Border Report) — El Centro Sector Chief Patrol Agent Greg Bovino jumped into the All American Canal to show how dangerous the currents can be. And even though he’s a good swimmer and wore a life jacket, it was not easy for him to get across the waterway.

This was part of a swift water demonstration highlighting the dangers of crossing canals.

The Phoenix metro area has these canals all over the place, and people are constantly reminded, "Keep your kids away from the canals!"  They are extremely dangerous because the water in them is fast running, and the "shores" of the canals are steeply angled concrete with nothing to grab onto in order to get out.

People who deny this and get into the canals drown.  It's a fact of life in the urban desert.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16
I will NOT comply.
