Pregnant soldier given pointless duty sitting in armory as unit conducts training

'They had the right intentions in mind.'

A pregnant specialist in the Oregon National Guard is back home on Thursday after staying in her unit armory for an unclear amount of time while her battalion was gone for annual training this week.

According to an Instagram post on Wednesday night, a soldier with the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team told her leadership she was pregnant before annual training began on Sunday, and when she provided them a letter from her doctor they said “she could hang out in Casa de Armory.” By Thursday afternoon the post had gotten the attention of Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston, who commented: “Terrible story – I’m working with the [National Guard Bureau Command Sgt. Maj.] to fix it.”

Lt. Col. Pete Wood, commander of the brigade’s 2nd Battalion, 162nd Infantry Regiment, confirmed some of the details of that post. He said he was notified on Wednesday night that a female specialist was staying in the battalion’s armory building while the battalion was out conducting training.

Most people who have been TAD in that situation probably experienced the same thing.  I was TAD in Treasure Island after my father passed away, until my ship came back from overseas.  My first assignment was to measure all the rooms in an old building that was going to be torn down.  I struggled with that for at least two hours when I reported for more work.  The old Chief in charge assured me I didn't understand the assignment and told me to make sure I had it done.  I thought, "ah, I get it" and went to the EM club for the rest of the day.  What do people think can be done with people in that situation, help build rockets? wink777

I'm not sure I understand the problem.  Were they supposed to put a pregnant woman in the field for training exercises?

Cyber, no, they needed to find an acceptable military duty for this woman - not just leave her by herself to do nothing.

HOWEVER, ranger and Liberty, women do not belong in a military unit, for two good reasons and likely more:

1. Boys, at an early age, realize and are taught by parents and seeing their father act this way: that girls are weaker than they are.  They see the father helping the mother by lifting heavy objects for her, doing other things she cannot do.  Therefore, men will defer to women, help them, protect them, and in a war situation in a foxhole, will protect the military woman rather than leaving her unprotected to engage the enemy.  Do not put a distraction in a fox hole or any other situation like that, where the soldier feels in his gut he must first protect the woman.

A story:  Son was dating a girl and girl said son treats her so well.  Son said, "I learned how to treat women by watching how my father treats my mother."  That is true, a son tends to follow the father's example in all areas of living.

2. Men, in their DNA, are born to want to have sex with every woman in the universe.  That is how/why we have people on the planet.  When one puts women and men together, there will be sex. Fake story: In a fox hole, man wonders if they have enough time for sex before the enemy attacks; so they have a quickie.  One month later, woman tells man she is pregnant.  Man thinks, "Surely not, we did it so fast I did not think that would happen."  Well, it did.

So, women should not be in the military in a position where there is hand to hand combat because the men on her side will concentrate on protecting her, and sex between men and women in the military causes pregnancies.

Women can fly planes but there is still the sex problem at the base where they live.

What is the answer to these problems?  None if women are in the military.
Now, the women here are going to complain about what I wrote, and men likely to do the same.  Tough cookies - it is the truth.
