Justice Dept.: Missouri governor can't void federal gun laws

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is warning Missouri officials that the state can’t ignore federal law, after the governor signed a bill last week that bans police from enforcing federal gun rules.

In a letter sent Wednesday night and obtained by The Associated Press, Justice officials said the U.S. Constitution's Supremacy Clause outweighs the measure that Gov. Mike Parson signed into law Saturday. The new rules penalize local police departments if their officers enforce federal gun laws.

Acting Assistant Attorney General Brian Boynton said the law threatens to disrupt the working relationship between federal and local authorities, they said in the letter, noting that Missouri receives federal grants and technical assistance.

If states can refuse to aid Feds enforcing Federal immigration and/or marijuana laws, then states can refuse to aid Feds enforcing Federal gun laws. If DoJ tries to fight this they will endanger states’ sanctuary and marijuana decriminalization laws.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I don't think anyone has said anything about voiding any laws.  Ignoring is different from voiding.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Sooner or later, this is gonna come down to "the guns of Missouri" facing off against "the guns of the DC communists".

There can be no other outcome.

If Missouri is to stand a chance, it had better consider persuading other nearby states to pass similar laws and then band together to stand in unity against the fed/coms.

Missourians need to join with Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and hopefully Texas. Do the legislatures of those states lean in the same direction...?

@Fishrrman

You are right.Neither Mo or any other states has the horsepower to stand up against the feral goobermint. They will be dismissed as flakes,etc,etc,etc.

Hard to dismiss several states standing together,side by side,though. Might make some people wonder who the "flakes" really are.

Oh but states and cities CAN ignore federal law. Just ask Gavin Newsome and the dozens of mayors in the sanctuary cities around the country.
