The embattled lingerie giant is attempting the most extreme brand turnaround in recent memory: an effort to redefine not just itself but also the very idea of what “sexy” is.

The Victoria’s Secret Angels, those avatars of Barbie bodies and playboy reverie, are gone. Their wings, fluttery confections of rhinestones and feathers that could weigh almost 30 pounds, are gathering dust in storage. The “Fantasy Bra,” dangling real diamonds and other gems, is no more.

In their place are seven women famous for their achievements and not their proportions. They include Megan Rapinoe, the 35-year-old pink-haired soccer star and gender equity campaigner; Eileen Gu, a 17-year-old Chinese American freestyle skier and soon-to-be Olympian; the 29-year-old biracial model and inclusivity advocate Paloma Elsesser, who was the rare size 14 woman on the cover of Vogue; and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a 38-year-old Indian actor and tech investor.

TV host John Cardillo posted: "All of the ugly chicks agreeing with Victoria's Secret's new wokeness were the ones who didn't shop there because no one wanted to see them undressed. Dumbest. Brand. Strategy. Ever."

Jenna Ellis, who served as a senior legal adviser for former President Donald Trump during his 2020 re-election campaign, posted: "Is Victoria's Secret really trying to pretend that women aren't into being sexy and beautiful too? I don't want to look like Megan Rapinoe. I can be feminine AND empowered, thanks." ...

I have a friend - somewhat zaftig - who patronizes VS. I only can assume she hopes the fancy lingerie will make her look more alluring. Are they going to put lacy undergarments on the butch Ms. Rapinoe? Um, no thanks.

The change seemed to have something to do with the lingerie and women's clothing company announcing the cancellation of its supermodels, the "Angels", who are being replaced with feminist icons such as Megan Rapinoe.

"Yeah, you know what? Mom can keep this one," said one disappointed boy, Oliver Hampton, putting the catalog back in the mailbox after seeing Rapinoe on the cover. He then went and did something more productive and less sinful with his time, pwning his friends in Fortnite.

Christians across the nation, though, are hailing the move as a big win for purity, since fewer men will be tempted to look at the scantily clad women. "Most men won't even have to avert their eyes when walking by the stores anymore," said one pastor. "Frankly, this is the biggest win for the abstinence movement since Star Wars came out."

At publishing time, Victoria's Secret had tried to win back its key teenage boy demographic by unveiling a new model: Amy Schumer.

Judging by the last time this country cared about a soccer player's lingerie (the notoriously flat-chested, but heterosexual, Brandi Chastain ripping off her shirt after a goal celebration at the World Cup)... I would not want bras endorsed by soccer players. Especially if you're Victoria's Secret.

Nike, on the other hand, might buy that up as quick as a flash.

As if stores in malls weren't having enough trouble attracting customers.  This makes no sense. I'm past the age for being lured into buying overpriced stuff just to brag on having and wearing a certain brand name, but their target demographic isn't someone who is influenced by masculine women.
