Republican Fla congressional candidate accuses GOP rival of plotting to ‘murder’ her
In the context of going to court to obtain a temporary stalking injunction, Florida congressional candidate Anna Paulina Luna claims that a GOP rival wants to kill her in what perhaps gives an alternative, and far more disturbing, meaning to political hit job.
In court papers, the pro-Trump, Republican U.S. Air Force veteran wrote that “I received information yesterday (at midnight) regarding a plan (with a timeline) to murder me made by William Braddock in an effort to prevent me from winning the election for FL-13,” the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Two other political opponents, along with Braddock, are also allegedly in on the plan to “take her out,” but they reportedly have not been served with any legal papers as yet.
Braddock told the news outlet that Luna “is off her rocker and she does not need to be representing anyone.” He added that he doesn’t even have her phone number and only briefly met Luna once. He also claimed that he didn’t do anything wrong and that Luna could wind up in jail for filing a false police report.
Braddock and Luna are due in court on June 22 for a hearing on whether the granted temporary injunction should be extended. In general, the petitioner has to meet a higher burden of proof when asking a court to make an injunction or a restraining order take effect for a longer period of time.
