WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz wants Dr. Anthony Fauci to be fired, alleging the nation’s top infectious disease expert “behaved more like a two-bit politician than a scientist” during the coronavirus pandemic.

“This is someone that had a position of enormous responsibility in the government during a time of great peril, during a time of worldwide pandemic,” Cruz said in an interview with conservative radio host Michael Berry. “He was saying whatever was politically convenient, he was saying whatever the Democrats wanted said at the time and the science was secondary.”

Cruz’s comments come as Republicans have increasingly criticized Fauci over a trove of his emails from last year that was released to news organizations, including the Washington Post.

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a right-wing firebrand from Georgia, led a news conference with a handful of House Republicans on Tuesday making similar calls.

President Joe Biden has put Fauci — who emerged as a star to many Democrats as he occasionally disagreed with former President Donald Trump — at the head of his administration’s response to the virus.................

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene suggests COVID-19 was 'bioweapon,' demands Fauci be held accountable

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday claimed the coronavirus was human-made in a Chinese lab and suggested the American people were victims of a bioweapons attack.

The controversial Georgia Republican made the claims during a press conference with fellow Republicans. She also touted her legislation to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been the leading scientific voice for the U.S. government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"How do you feel about being part of a human experiment with COVID-19? That has what we have been over this past year," Greene told reporters at the Capitol Tuesday............

Exactly right.  The syringe gnome spent twice as much air time chiming in on how he was second guessing Trump vs. any level of strategic talk around containment.

Fire him?  Yeah, but also see if he is jailable for crimes against this country.
