We're Not Going Back to a 1970s Economy. It's Worse than That.
By David Ennocenti

Comparisons are being made of our current economy to that of the Jimmy Carter presidency of the 1970s.  President Biden's policies appear to parallel those of the Carter administration.  We haven't heard the term "stagflation" in the news for the past forty years.  That's the term for high unemployment and high inflation.  It's measured by what is called the Philips Curve.  There certainly are similarities to our present economy and that of the 1970s.

Presently we are looking at inflation, slow job growth, shortages of materials, and even long lines for gasoline.  While the gasoline shortage was only a temporary one affecting only a portion of the country, it was caused by a pipeline shutdown.  This was exacerbated by the fact that President Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline his first day in office.  Prices, however, continue to rise due to the lessening of supply.

Did the poor economy of the 1970s begin under Jimmy Carter?  Not really.  Looking back, we know that as early as President Nixon's first term, he imposed a wage price freeze on the United States.  On the night of August 15, 1971, he made that announcement in a nationally televised address.  We were also hit with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) oil embargo of 1973.  This led to long gasoline lines, gasoline rationing, and inflation caused by increase in the cost of oil.

In the 70s all Americans were united against the Carter economy.

Now we have blue states and minorities, as well as illegals getting preferential treatment by the feds.

Yes, it will be worse, as some are rooting for the collapse now.

Good point.  In the '70's a hard days work for a good wage, and being left alone by the government described 95% of folks then.

Now, we are an entitlement based society who are lips are superglued to the left hind teat of the Fedzilla Sow.  Their votes hinge on those entitlements, and that they are perpetuated.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

70s America was populated by relatively independent, well educated citizens ready to pull themselves out of the morass as soon as they got rid of the socialist boobs then ruining things.

Today we have a bunch of ignorant compliant sheep speaking dozens of different languages, mouths open like baby canaries waiting to be fed. Just as the Marxists intended.

It really doesn't matter if some people are rooting for the collapse or not.

The Rodents are still working to maximize their number of serfs...their goal is the destruction of the middle class, not realizing the middle class is the powerhouse of the US economy...and since they have no clue how an national or global economy actually works, the country is going to have a deliberate "accidental contact with terrain" situation.

And those always result in massive death and destruction for those involved.

If we are lucky, this will be a Sioux City crash.

But it's more likely going to be a Flight 93 scenario.   We are fast approaching the point of "no matter how much, it's too little" and "too late" is either past or fast approaching.   MAYBE if we prevent the Rodents from stealing the elections of 2022, we still have a chance.  Otherwise, no.

Now, let's talk about the 1970's:

Everyone who graduated from the public schools was taught a staunchly pro-America curriculum.
Everyone in the country, especially the whiteys, understood that getting ahead in America meant working.
The national economy was based largely on domestic manufacturing, with a small service economy, and strong access to domestic natural resources.
The number of illegal aliens was miniscule and illegal aliens kept their heads low and worried about getting caught.

Today?

For the last thirty years or more, the schools have shifted completely away from promoting America as a singular source for good in the world to the source of the world's evil
Getting ahead now means gaming the system to get the most benefits, and if POX can't get ahead, it's because of Oppression.   Personal responsibility no longer matters.  Except for white people who get blamed for everyone else's failures.
Trump was robbed precisely because he was attempting to restore manufacturing to America and the major corporations who have been profiting from slave labor in China don't want to go back.
The number of illegal aliens in the US now exceeds 30,000,000 Invaders, and they VOTE, for Rodents.

I find it hard to uncover a bloodless recovery.

I find it difficult to want one.

The GOP is not the party leadership.  The GOP is the party MEMBERSHIP.   The members need to kick the leaders out if they leaders are going the wrong way.  No coddling allowed.
