George P. Bush breaks with family, calls former President Trump ‘center of the Republican Party’
June 10, 2021 | Vivek Saxena

Not every member of the Bush dynasty is a raging anti-Trump zealot. George P. Bush, the nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of failed 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush, is in fact a passionate Trump fan who views the former president as the “center of the Republican Party.”

Speaking Wednesday on Fox News’ “Fox News Primetime” about his bid to serve as Texas’s next attorney general, the aspiring 45-year-old Texas AG implored the former president’s supporters to recognize that he’s one of them.

“It’s my name on the ballot. I’m my own man. … [W]hen I talk about my record, whether it’s as land commissioner or my support of Trump, you know, I just stick to the facts. The fact is that in 2016 I was one of the first statewide-elected officials to come out and support him. I raised a million and a half in support of Republican candidates with him at the top of the ticket,” he said.

“And it was a high watermark for Republican Party politics in the state of Texas. And in 2020, I boldly declared that Trump was the only thing standing between our country, the American people and socialism. And lo and behold, I’ve turned out to be correct, with over 30 trillion in total spending, six trillion in just next year’s annual budget,” he added.

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

If P is his own man, and not a Shrubbery, why is he focusing his campaign efforts on a non-existent allegiance to someone else?

Why isn't he simply discussing the issues the State of Texas has in the legal arena and what he brings to the table to resolve those issues better than anyone else vying for the job?

Looks like he's desperate for a Trump endorsement.

Okay.

Let's put it a different way.

How about if P complies a list of the things he's said and done to assist Candidate and then President Trump between 2015 and 2021?  Be sure to list his personal campaign donations.

I'm suspecting that this newly discovered Trumpette won't be able to show any contributions to either Trump election campaign, even though both campaigns managed to secure electoral victory without him.

And Trump should be getting annoyed at this presumptious Shrubbery and expect Trump to endorse the other candidate in the near future.

The GOP is not the party leadership.  The GOP is the party MEMBERSHIP.   The members need to kick the leaders out if they leaders are going the wrong way.  No coddling allowed.
