Since May 12, I have been touting sudden summer developing across areas of the US that have been very cold this May. Lo and behold it happens — and when it does, here is what we get.

NO PERSPECTIVE AT ALL TO WHAT WAS FORECASTED AND WHAT MAY HAS ACTUALLY BEEN LIKE!

So let’s give some perspective to this.

    It has been one of the coldest months of May on record in parts of Texas! The nation against the 30-year means ending in 2010 are .5F BELOW average for May (against the new 30-year means ending in 2020 is likely about .7F below average). This is the coolest May GLOBALLY since 2014, which was before the Super Nino that helped warm the globe after 2015-2016. In fact, that last three months of May have been cooler than average across the U.S. It is now late May; it SHOULD get hot in places by now. But here is May so far:
