Just speaking for me, but I am more likely to grant grace after an heartfelt apology is heard.

It takes balls to admit error.
It shows an humility, and a willingness to be humbled.
And it shows a head that is either on square, or heading that way.

Signs of that narrow path always meet with my approval.

True if you've actually done something worthy of an apology. But I am interpreting this paper in the context of those that cave to the Woke mob and issue a faux apology in an attempt to appease them.
