Watch: Ecologist Allan Savory exposes consensus science: Peer-reviewed ‘means everybody thought the same therefore they approved it’ – ‘We’re going to kill ourselves because of stupidity’

Ecologist Allan Savory: "People talk glibly about science what is science. People coming out of a university with a master's degree or a Ph.D., you take them into the field and they literally don't believe anything unless it's a peer-reviewed paper. It's the only thing they accept and you say to them 'But let's observe. Let's think. Let's discuss.' They don't do it. It's just, 'Is it in a peer-reviewed paper or not?' That's their view of science. I think it's pathetic.

Gone into universities as bright young people. They come out of them brain dead, not even knowing what science means. They think it means peer-reviewed papers etc. No that's academia. And if a paper is peer-reviewed it means everybody thought the same therefore they approved it.
An unintended consequence is that when new knowledge emerges, new scientific insights, they can never ever be peer-reviewed. So we're blocking all new advances in science that are big advances. If you look at the breakthroughs in science almost always they don't come from the center of that profession, they come from the fringe. The finest candle makers in the world couldn't even think of electric lights. They don't come from within they often come from outside the bricks.  We're going to kill ourselves because of stupidity."

Indeed.
The number of debunked Theories of Science down thru history, are in the high hundreds, ranging thru Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Cosmology, Geology, Medicine, Physics, Psychology, as well as many other fields.
Further, many of those Theories were advanced by world class Scientists who were either proven incomplete or simply wrong.
Reality is, we are hardly the greatest anything. As such humility would be most appropriate rather than bellicose and self-righteous arrogance; the perpetual hallmark of the ignoramus.

It's more sinister than blind consensus.

It was proven that the AGW Cultists were packing the professional journal review boards with fellow cultists and excluding the real scientists, choking off dissent.

Goes hand-in-hand with their efforts to "hide the decline" and otherwise keep the trillion dollar gravy train feeding the hoax.
The GOP is not the party leadership.  The GOP is the party MEMBERSHIP.   The members need to kick the leaders out if they leaders are going the wrong way.  No coddling allowed.

Frankly, the more we learn, the less we know.

Every answer brings more questions, and science is NEVER settled, we just agree on some working hypotheses.

Suppose someone refused to be constrained by the concept of Relativity, and set out assuming FTL travel is possible. It was heresy in physics circles when I was in grad school to mention the velocity of gravity...why? Obviously, it has one.

If we did not make the scientific assumptions we do, what worlds might open to us?

There is no lack of charlatans claiming they alone have the solution to what ails humankind.
The Medicine Show isn't as entertaining, perhaps, but the elixr they sell still won't cure all humanity's ills.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Some is stupidity, some, for whatever motive, is pure evil.
