The Re-Apportionment of Congressional Seats Promises Some Surprises in the Future
By Shipwreckedcrew | Apr 27, 2021 8:00 AM ET

As was covered here by Red State on Monday, the U.S. Census Bureau released its determination regarding the reapportionment of House seats in the next United States Congress based on the results of the 2020 Census.

Texas gains two congressional seats, while Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Montana, and Oregon each gain one seat.

California, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia all lose one seat each.

The political impact of this redistribution of congressional seats results in two primary ways.  First, the movement of House seats changes the number of electoral votes of the affected states during each Presidential election.  Second, changes made to district boundaries in the states gaining or losing seats can significantly impact the ability of one party or the other to prevail in House elections for those seats every two years.

Some folks may think that "losing a congressional seat" is going to hurt democrat-communists in states like New York or Illinois.

Better think again.

The seats that will subsequently be "eliminated" will most likely be those currently held by Republicans..

Yep.

They'll bring in a "nonpartisan" study group to redraw the district maps, either that or cheat in elections, and the Dems. w/wind up w/more Congress members than they had before.

  • WE are NOT ok!
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Not NY or Ill., but in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Michigan, the GOP controls both houses of the Legislature, as they do in Texas, Florida, North Carolina and Montana.  And CO, CA, NY, PA and OH have non-partisan redistricting commissions, so only Illinois of those states either gaining or losing seats is ripe for 'Rat gerrymandering.  So yes, it will hurt the 'Rats.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
