The Most Dangerous Place on Earth: Why China Has No Choice But to Move on Taiwan, and to Move Soon

Written By: Daniel Roman

At the height of the Cold War, Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev called Berlin “the most dangerous place on earth.” Today there is a new “most dangerous place on Earth.” It is not located in Europe, nor even in the conflict-prone Middle East. It does not lie along the borders between Russia and her former vassal states. It does not have a land border at all. It is the island of Taiwan. Officially known as the Republic of China, Taiwan is a flourishing democracy. A hi-tech powerhouse, it supplies most of the world’s microchips, vital to products ranging from video game consoles to automobiles.

How can a tiny island such as Taiwan pose an existential threat to the People’s Republic of China–and what will that mean for the world in the decade to come? These are the questions we will explore in a three-part series.

To start with, Taiwan’s independence and pro-Western alignment pose a threat to China’s control of its coastal waters. Its continued sovereignty is a reminder of historical injustice for many Chinese. China desires Taiwan because it is valuable economically because its loss to the West would cripple the position of the U.S. in the Pacific, and of course, because of Communist ideology.

But ultimately, it is not greed and ambition but fear that leaves Beijing feeling it has no choice but to risk war to seize the island–and to do it sooner rather than later. The continued presence of a hostile and independent Taiwan is intolerable to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because it poses a mortal threat to them. Taiwan’s very existence as an alternative Chinese system is a challenge not just to the CCP’s argument that it is the only viable model of governance for China, but to the legitimacy of its claim to govern China itself.............

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

All this yip-yap about the inherent threat of China, is nothing but horse manure.
Since the Shang Dynasty, several thousand years past, China has only been a threat to its people.
The power in Asia on the Pacific Rim remains Japan!!!

That's a load of crap. China has nukes, aircraft carriers, stealth jets, and the world's largest army. Japan hasn't been a threat since WW2.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
Truth is often NOT in evidence when talking about would be enemies of the USA.

For years we heard about the threat of the USSR/now Russia.  If any of you have been there, you know the threat was one of the biggest hoaxes perpetrated against the American people.  Flat out lie.  Do they have nukes?  Sure.  But they are not a threat otherwise.  They are more afraid of us attacking them without provocation.

Everything we have been told and continue to be told is propaganda to continue to feed the industrial military complex.

PERIOD!!!

In regard to Taiwan, of course China wants Taiwan, for the economics mainly, and the political gain they would achieve.  What it boils down to is the commitment from the USA.  If we react, then we could have a war on our hands.  I do not think China wants war with the USA and what Allies they can gather.

And I believe China has but one aircraft carrier, and they can't get it to function properly.  So it is basically at anchor.  WE have a 10 - 12 carrier groups, all fully capable of sinking the Chinese Navy without much effort.  WE are being told China has more ships then we do, but it is what those ships can do that matters.  Most are small ships, not that consequential.  But our military and politicians would leave you to believe otherwise.

And Japan is not a powerhouse of any kind.  Subsequent to WWII, their military has been kept to a minimum.  They are coming to the scary realization that the USA may not be there for them one day as an ally.  Japan is slowly expanding their military, but they are nothing close to the size of China.

But hey let's get SCARED.  We need another $trillion dollars to keep our military up to date.  OOOHHH!  We could die at any moment.  Better be prepared to hide under your seat at school!

F*&^ing POPPYCOCK BULLSH*T!!!

Around 330 BC, a Macedon Prince crossed the Dardanelles, on his way to the awe of history
where Darius of Persia waited w/his hordes; the latter intending to humiliated/exterminate
"those Greek nothings who refused to kiss his ass and kow-tow. "
Alexander, outnumbered by some 5 to 1, clashed w/Darius at Gaugamela (Arbela) near modern Mosul, the battle ending within 15 hours w/Darius hanging from a tree w/o feet and hands.
So how did Alexander destroy the Persian Empire in half a day???
At the head of his Calvary, while trooping his line, Alexander 'saw victory', as the large lightly
armed Persian Palace Guard were heavily massed around Darius, at the front of his Army.
Alexander then ordered his Calvary to charge the Persian Center at full speed, instantly
producing a frenzied/disorganized panic & retreat within the Persian ranks, as they ran
for their life; Persian cowardice being on full display while their Army scattered.
So much for size, a reality the Romans fully grasped!!!
During the decades of the Gallic Wars, Julius Caesar was always outnumbered by the Tribes
of Gaul, Saxony and the rest. No matter, as Rome was victorious and hardly the latter!!!
The point is direct and simple, namely that size is infantile mythology having a powerful
hold on the psyche of inferior cultures/societies in Africa, South America and Asia;
in particular, the Akkadians, the Babylonians, the Persians, the Indians, till Great Britain
acquainted them w/reality and in particular China over the past 4,000 years. But why?
Because Asian culture/societies were/remain dynastic, autocratic and addicted to power,
perceiving size as symbolic, which is bull shit, as history affirms.
Japan is about 6% of the size of China and kicked the latter's Ass militarily for almost 100
years ending around 1945. The only ones impressed by size are horny women w/low IQ's

China is very much a local military threat, much like imperial Japan was, and to that extent she is a threat to the world. Frankly, the US could live with that, just as we could've lived with an imperial Japan had they not the temerity to attack us directly.

The mortal threat China poses to the US is as a covert one, partnering with anti America elements within our own country to undermine us. That war is now underway and the Chinese are winning.
