Biden traveling to Georgia to mark 100 days in office
By Alex Gangitano - 04/23/21 12:06 PM EDT

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden will travel to Atlanta, Ga., on his 100th day in office on April 29.

The president will participate in a car rally and highlight his accomplishments within the first 100 days, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Friday.

The trip will be Biden's second to Atlanta in his first months in office.

Georgia has become a political hotspot this year over a controversial voting law.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) last month signed the law that has been sharply criticized by the White House and Democrats as restrictive and racist. The president last month announced that the Justice Department is “taking a look” at a new law. Atlanta-based companies Delta and Coca-Cola, as well as dozens of other major corporations, have condemned the law and Major League Baseball moved its All-Star game from Atlanta to Denver.

Georgia was also a pivotal state for Biden in 2020 when the runoffs last cycle delivered Democrats their narrow majority in the Senate. Democratic Sens. Ralphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff were elected just days before Biden was sworn in in January.

Biden traveled to the city in March, a visit that was initially planned to highlight the passage of his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package.

Biden delivered a speech in Atlanta decrying anti-Asian hate crimes following a deadly shooting targeting massage parlors in the Atlanta area.

Biden had been scheduled to attend a political event during his March trip that was cancelled due to the shooting.

Joe Biden to Hold a Car Rally Next Week, but It's Where It Is That's the Hypocritical Kicker
By Nick Arama | Apr 23, 2021 6:30 PM ET

Someone is really going to have to help me out with the logic going on in the minds of Democrats.

Haven’t we been hearing Democrats spew incessantly about the horrible, evil, no good new election law in Georgia? That it’s so bad, MLB’s All-Star Game and other events should pull out of being in Georgia? Joe Biden encouraged the All-Star game being pulled out for that very reason.

Now, of course, there’s no truth to Democrats’ criticism about the law.

But how do they claim all that, yet now announce with a straight face that Joe Biden will be holding a rally in Georgia? Not only that, but the rally is being sponsored by the DNC. Are we in bizarro land, or what?
