Buffalo Politician Is At It Again, Announces Vax Requirement For Stadium Entry

OUTKICK

Erie County (NY) Executive covidbro Mark Poloncarz, who has threatened Bills fans since last August if they dared to tailgate before empty games at Ralph Wilson, has announced his latest plan and it includes vaccinated-only entry to Bills games.

“Our goal is to have a 100% full house for the Bills and the Sabres, starting in the fall,” Poloncarz said Tuesday. No vaccine? You don’t get to enter games in the fall, according to Mark.

â€œThere is no God-given right to attend a football game,” the elected tyrant, who lectured Bills fans about traveling to Miami for a September road game, added.

How does Mark get to decide such drastic measures? Because Erie County (NY) owns Ralph Wilson Stadium and KeyBank Center where the Sabres play.

Fans will be required to show vaccination before they’ll be allowed in to see the Bills and Sabres play now that Mark has enacted a vaccine passport requirement. ... Story at Outkick

Buffalo Bills To Require Vaccine Passport For Fans, Allowing For Full Capacity At Stadium
Nicholas Reimann, Forbes Staff

Fans attending Buffalo Bills games this upcoming NFL season will have to show proof they've been vaccinated for Covid-19 using New York's Excelsior Pass vaccine passport system—a phone app where users can upload proof of vaccinations—making the Bills the first team to enact such a policy as the NFL eyes a return to full capacity for games this fall.

Key Facts

* Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz (D) announced Tuesday the Bills would be allowed to play games at full stadium capacity, but only if fans show proof of vaccination by using their Excelsior Pass vaccine passports—a decision he said he's discussed with the Bills.

* The state set up the system as a first of its kind vaccine passport in the U.S., allowing for businesses and residents to use it for areas where vaccinations are a requirement.

* The Bills did not have any fans for regular season games during 2020—the most successful season the team had in decades.

* The decision means the Bills are the first NFL team to adopt a vaccine passport system, and comes after NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league expects full capacity at all its stadiums for the 2021 season. ... Forbes

PeteS in CA:
Bills and Sabres fans will stay home in droves. Hopefully they let their favorite teams why they are staying home while the fans of many other teams are filling those teams' stadiums and rinks.

What if Mark Poloncarz gave an order and no one listened?

Now granted, their team is awful, BUT... mandating you take a COVID test beforehand, and pay for it, then not refunding the cost of that test when the game is canceled tends to reflect poorly on everyone.
