Biden to establish commission to study expanding Supreme Court

President Biden will sign an executive order Friday establishing a commission to study whether to add seats to the Supreme Court, the White House announced, fulfilling a promise he made on the campaign trail.

The commission will be chaired by former White House counsel Bob Bauer and Cristina Rodriguez, a Yale law school professor and former deputy assistant attorney general, and include a bipartisan group of legal experts, former officials and reform advocates, the White House said.

It will delve into the issue of potentially expanding the court – an idea that has been floated by some progressives but heavily criticized by Republicans.

“The Commission’s purpose is to provide an analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform, including an appraisal of the merits and legality of particular reform proposals,” the White House said in a release. “The topics it will examine include the genesis of the reform debate; the Court’s role in the Constitutional system; the length of service and turnover of justices on the Court; the membership and size of the Court; and the Court’s case selection, rules, and practices.”

The White House said that the commission will hold public meetings to hear arguments from experts and interested parties.

I think the conclusion will hang on what the Trump Judges do.  If they're traitors, the commission will decide to leave things alone.

FDR's proposal to rape the Court faded when the Court bent over and declared his unconstitutional scams valid.

 The White House announced President Joe Biden would sign an executive order Friday creating a commission to study reform ideas for the U.S. Supreme Court.

“The Commission’s purpose is to provide an analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform, including an appraisal of the merits and legality of particular reform proposals,” the White House said in a statement. The panel includes experts on constitutional law, history, and political science, the White House added.

The announcement partially addresses a presidential campaign promise from Biden as the left repeatedly pressured him to pack the court with additional justices to diminish its growing conservative majority, including three justices nominated by former President Donald Trump and confirmed by the Senate.

In October 2020, Biden said in an interview he would put together a “bipartisan commission” to address the Supreme Court “because it’s getting out of whack.”

Of course and the liberals WILL pack the courts.  No doubt about it.  With Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavenaugh and Barret as liberals, though, why are they even bothering??
