More Than a Third of Americans Watch Sports Less Because of Politicshttps://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/rick-moran/2021/03/30/more-than-a-third-of-americans-watch-fewer-sports-because-of-politics-n1436015According to a new poll by You/Gov and Yahoo Sports, 34.5 percent of Americans are watching sports less today than a year ago because of politics. Fully half of Americans have changed their viewing habits for sports as some viewers — 11 percent — claim they watched more sports because of the political advocacy.
But three times more people said they were turning off sports broadcasts because of the messaging. The poll showed 56 percent don’t watch anymore or watch less because of the political message.
Four or five years ago I pretty much gave up watching NFL games, because the league kowtowed to Kaepernick. Two years ago it seemed like a measure of sanity had returned and I watched some. Then last year Kaep & Krew were back and I've bailed, for good. For me Sunday PMs are "Empire Builder" series board games time.
