More windmills: Climate activists push green energy after Texas frozen turbine debacle

Washington Times: “What happened in Texas is a preview of what the climate crisis will look like — coast to coast — if we fail to make transformational infrastructure investments now,” said Lori Lodes of Climate Power. “President Biden knows we have to build back better and work together towards a clean energy future.”

Not buying it was climate change skeptic Marc Morano, founder of the ClimateDepot.com. “The proponents of the Green New Deal are desperately trying to push the theme that the more green energy fails, the more green energy must be mandated,” Mr. Morano said. “But there is no scientific, economic, or energy reason to expand wind power even more in Texas.”

“The data, studies, and even the UN IPCC have proven that extreme weather is on no trend or declining trends on climate time scales,” said Mr. Morano, whose book “Green Fraud” will be released March 23. “There is no scientific way they can blame the bad weather in Texas on ‘climate change,’ so they instead choose political and pseudoscientific ways to link cold and snow and ice to ‘climate change.’”

Texas powergrid failed because ERCOT ignored findings and recommendations of a report about a 2011 episode.  The New Green Deal is a plan to weaken America in the face of increased Chi-com and Russian aggression.

Not just Ercot, problem with PUC, Texas Railroad Commission and Texas Legislature, and others.

Lawmakers and regulators, including the PUC and the industry-friendly Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates the oil and gas industry, have repeatedly ignored, dismissed or watered down efforts to address weaknesses in the state’s sprawling electric grid, which is isolated from the rest of the country.
