Trump talking to allies about 2024 run without Pence: report

Former President Donald Trump is considering running for the presidency again in 2024 without former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Anonymous sources told the news outlet that Trump is considering choosing a woman or a person of color to be his running mate and dropping Pence.

The report comes following the former president's tumultuous last few weeks in office, during which Trump publicly pressured Pence to overturn the 2020 election results during the congressional certification process.


Pence did not have the authority to overturn the election results, as his roll presiding over the Senate during this process is largely ceremonial.

The tensions between Trump and Pence came to a fever pitch during the Capitol riots on Jan. 6, when rioters breached the building's security and chanted about apprehending and hanging the former vice president.

Before the breach, Trump gave a speech on the National Mall during which he encouraged his supporters to march to the Capitol and demand that Congress halt the certification.

According to Bloomberg, the sources said that Trump is looking at people who stood by him through the end of his presidency after the Capitol riots.

As Pence's job was to certify the election as being legitimate, and Pence denied the election fraud we watched on cameras.  Pence deserves more than a black eye for refusing to do his duties.  This white wash don't sell!

Pence declined to attend Trump's farewell ceremony ...so he could get a really good seat at this one. Pence chose the swamp to benefit his career.  He, again, chose poorly.

This is quite a speculative "report" from The Hill.  Frankly, the real news would be Pence was on the list of possible running mates.

If Mr. Trump chooses to run again, one of his wisest opening moves will be to NOT pick Pence.

Send him back to Indiana, where he belongs.

Anyone with an IQ ten points lower than Forest Gump knows Pence is finished.  I can't believe anyone would even speculate on a Trump/Pence ticket again.  I like Pence, but he proved to be a weak sister in his final days.  He could have done many things positive for the cause, and still held his position or view point, but he stabbed the president in the back.

His political career is over.  Best buy a car dealership and sell cars.  Or spend his last few viable years writing books.

Since he's obviously in a psychotic denial of reality, he has no business in public office.

Trump is helping his former friend seek help.

   Pence's career was over when he hitched his wagon to the Trump Train.  He sold out Indianians on the Religious Freedom Act in order to not piss off the gay vote as Trump instructed him to.  How many other GOP stars are forever tainted by their association with the Trump Administration?   Screw em all.

He should have gone with his first instincts and tagged Senator Cruz. The Texas Republican would STILL be the best running mate possible.
