I just naturally hate work. Especially, I hate to be told what to do. My dad had told me you never get anywhere working for the other guy. When I was a teenager, the parents of one of my good friends told me they would finance me to start up any business I wanted to get into. Me? I hate work. When I was given a layoff notice, 2 years after there wasn't another Space Shuttle flight to support, I kept telling myself, I'll be free again as I was before kindergarten. Well I guess it really depends on what you call work. I hate working for the other guy. I love to tinker and do projects on my own. Working for the other guy was just a necessary evil to support my family.

@Elderberry

A successful society needs both types of citizens,and needs more "worker bees" than bosses.  Humanity,or at least the part of humanity that has raised itself about living at a tribal level,is truly lucky that's the way it works out in nature.

The old adage about "too many Chiefs,and not enough Indians" still applies in the real world.

One group is no more important than the other group. Both need each other to survive,as does a civilized society.

@bilo

Many of us don't have that option because we are unable to work. Or do much of anything else most days.

BTW,I would have never stopped working if I had that option. I flat loved working. Even menial jobs,and that seems to be the case with most of the people I know. Yeah,we ALL loved some jobs and hated others,but we all LOVED having jobs.

I understand not everyone can keep working and when we can't, we can't.

As long as I can work, I would happily give up my social security benefits if it meant I could live in a free country. In the case of secession a free USA would probably not be able to handle all those seeking to come in and there would be hardship for those stuck in the socialist states. I don't think there is ever going to be a perfect solution, but I will take an imperfect solution if it means I can live free of the leftist tyranny.
