@sneakypete @Cyber Liberty@mystery-akSomeone said get rid of electronic voting.
sneaky, Cyber, myst, I worked in elections, helping run them, when there was NO electronic voting, only Paper Ballots. The attitude of voters was, paper ballots were too easy for
bad people to cheat using them. They were in the hands of people, you could see them, there they were for the taking to vote a number of times or dump them in the trash, etc., etc.
The idea of electronic voting was, this would stop
bad people from being able to mess with paper ballots. After all, one could not actually see the ballot, could not have it in one's hand.
This extreme desire for electronic voting came about after the Florida mess up in the 2000 election. Companies were making these voting machines. In Texas, every county who wanted them, would have companies come to Commissioner's Court, demonstrate their machines, and choose a company. Only companies approved by the Secretary of State were allowed to go to counties.
The Federal Government wanted to go to machines due to Florida, so the Federal Government PAID FOR THE MACHINES a county chose for that first time. The feds did this for every state if they wanted machines.
Now, people want paper ballots because
bad people can do things to the machines.
sneaky, Cyber, myst, the problem here is
BAD PEOPLE, not paper ballots or voting machines.
