In Case You Missed It Dept.:

House Republicans insist Pelosi be fined for bypassing the metal detector as she entered the House Chamber last week. I misheard the news but it gave me an idea. Imagine how dramatically it might thin out the herd if security installed a mental detector at the entrance to the House Chamber.

The Super Bowl was played Sunday between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs, ending after the fourth quarter with the Buccaneers leading the Chiefs 31-9. However, we may not know the winner for weeks. Mail-in touchdowns and extra points still have to be counted.

The United States Senate gathered in Senate Chamber at the U.S. Capitol Tuesday to begin the historic trial of former President Trump after his impeachment in the House. Fully knowing the outcome, I did not bother to watch. I'm old enough to remember when re-runs didn't start until June.

The Hollywood Reporter reports Donald Trump resigned from the AFTRA and Screen Actors Guild union rather than face being evicted. In addition there is reportedly a movement by the Left in Hollywood to pressure TV and movie studios to blacklist conservatives. I did Nazi that coming!

President Biden gave a speech at the National Institute of Health headquarters in Washington Thursday and enjoyed mixing it up with the press. He's reportedly been fitted with a brand-new hearing aid that's state of the art. One journalist asked Biden what kind it is, and Joe said two o'clock.

The Senate trial of Trump proceeded this week with both prosecution and defense oblivious to the fact that Article Two of the Constitution bans the Senate from trying a private citizen for any crime. I just received my constitutional law degree from Facebook. Unfortunately Twitter blocked me.

President Biden read a speech off a Teleprompter to the Pentagon Wednesday saying we must re-train the military to fight climate change, battle racial injustice and halt viruses. Every hour is a fresh new adventure for him. I have no idea what Biden did this morning, and neither does Biden.

House Democrats jammed social programs and illegal alien benefits into the Covid Relief Bill now being reconciled by Senate Democrats. Why let a crisis go to waste? Socialism is getting a free pass in this country right now because standing in line for bread sounds like a nice way to get out.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban declared the National Anthem will no longer be played before home games, but he was overruled by the NBA. Mark may not realize what thin ice he's on. Dallas is so conservative it's believed JFK was killed there for going too soft on a left-wing Cuban.

The Senate set a dangerous precedent by trying an ex-president. Now they can try Obama for running guns to Mexico, George W for lying about WMDs, Reagan for Iran-Contra, Ford for assault with a tee shot and eight others for owning slaves. Hey, we'll get to the Covid Relief Bill when we get to it.

CBS's Face the Nation interviewed outraged Democratic lawmakers Sunday still fuming over the fact that Donald Trump escaped conviction on Saturday. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was overjoyed when she first heard the Senate's verdict on Trump. She thought that he quitted.

Donald Trump's attorneys presented his defense in his Senate impeachment trial Friday. I've never witnessed such blood-letting on the Senate floor. Democrats weren't just trying to prevent Trump from running for public office again, they want to sentence him to a New York nursing home.

Nancy Pelosi commented after the verdict Saturday and spent ten minutes denouncing GOP Senators for refusing to vote to convict Donald Trump. She's not done. Nancy just sponsored a bill designating the third Monday in February a federal holiday called Presidents Other Than Trump Day.

Nancy Pelosi reacted to a victory rally by Trump fans Sunday by creating a House Committee to probe the U.S. Capitol attack. There's just no let-up. After watching the Senate impeachment trial for three long days, I tried to lighten the mood a little bit last night and watched Schindler's List.

Minneapolis reported a night-time temperature reading of fifty degrees below zero Fahrenheit Sunday as the Polar Vortex swept to the Texas Gulf. The next day it froze the Eastern Seaboard. It was so cold in New York that Governor Andrew Cuomo was sending old people to the crematorium.

In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
More than any other time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. One path leads to despair and utter hopelessness. The other, to total extinction. Let us pray we have the wisdom to choose correctly.-Woody Allen
If God invented marathons to keep people from doing anything more stupid, the triathlon must have taken him completely by surprise.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
