??? Really confusing.  I heard today that only one shot would be needed now because the vaccines are 85% effective.

Which is it?  Do we need one? Two? Three?  It doesn't stop the spread, but it keeps people from getting COVID. True or false?

It hasn't been thoroughly tested but apparently a single dose of the Pfizer vaccine may be almost as effective as two (85% vs. 94%). I would not be surprised if Moderna's vaccine yielded similar effectiveness %s. Vaccines are not like a switch, instantly on after the second dose but totally off until then. Similarly, immunity - by vaccine or by recovery - is not like a switch, shutting down viruses the instant the virus invades. Apparently the immunity from having recovered can vary some with how severe the person's case was (much as with chicken pox).

Gates is just a $$ bag with a predilection for speaking from ignorance, this being a case.

CDC continues to report that less than 6% of reported Covid deaths were from Covid alone.  The remaining 95% had on average 4 other co-morbidity conditions.  Over 50% were attributed to flu or pneumonia.
