Sheila Jackson-Lee Will Save Texas With “Hydro-Power”

Michael Berry   |   Feb 18, 2021

During a press conference on Tuesday, the CongressWOMAN Sheila Jackson-Lee talked about how she’s working to save Texas.

As the czar points out, “Sheila Jackson-Lee doesn’t have the slightest clue how our power grid works”.

The CongressWOMAN said:
“Based on my request yesterday for them to go out hunting for resources, they have asked the Southwest Power Administration that falls under the Department of Energy to extend us power. They have sent us hydro power. They have already sent that power to the state. I think it is important for ERCOT to let us know where that power is being used. I’ve asked them to continue, they are now going back to do as I asked, which is, they’re going to go to New York, they’re going to go to California, and try to see whether or not we can get any sources between now and then. Obviously, the distributors have to be involved as well, but the federal government is now asking New York and California if they can help us.

I even asked Mexico, but Mexico is in dire straits right now, because they didn’t get the natural gas that they needed to get. My good friends at Center Point, I’m not sure whether they can reach there and maybe they’ll respond. We’ll talk offline. New Mexico is also a viable entity in terms of some of our distribution companies.”

Media Informs Ted Cruz You Can Only Travel During A Crisis If You're A Democrat
February 18th, 2021

CANCUN—Ted Cruz is really ignorant of how to be a politician. The guy traveled during a crisis in his state, and he isn't even a Democrat.

What an idiot!

The media informed Cruz of his faux pas as soon as he landed in the Yucatán Peninsula, shouting at him that he's not allowed to travel during a crisis, since he has an "R" next to his name.

"You can only get away with traveling during a crisis if you specifically tell people to stay home and then don't stay home yourself!" screamed a CNN journalist on the scene as Cruz landed. "Oh, and of course, you have to be a liberal!" ... Babylon Bee

Are they still there?  If you find that they are, please post a link.  Might even be on Twit.

Cruz flew home alone @Cyber Liberty   I posted a Daily Mail link up thread.

You're right, he does "optics" poorly.  He should have ignored it entirely, as has been suggested a number of times on this thread.  Take the trip, ignore the haters.  And don't fly United because they'll tell people your itinerary.

Well with all due respect.... I find it ironic that you feel that way....

considering how many 4x8's Trump has always given his opponents to beat him with.

If Ted Cruz had 1/16th the bond with the American voters Donald Trump has, I would not be concerned about Cruz's optics, either.

But Cruz does not.  And apparently he has no plans to build one.

The words "Lyin' Ted" are never more than a few keystrokes for some folks.  And yet, most people have figured out how to like both Donald trump and ted Cruz.  Go figger.

Sen. Ted Cruz arrives back in Texas with armed police escort
By Ebony Bowden
February 18, 2021 | 6:11pm

Sen. Ted Cruz touched down in Texas on Thursday afternoon with an armed police escort amid outrage over his 24-hour trip to Mexico during a catastrophic storm in the Lone Star State. ...

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Cruz said that he was only chaperoning his daughters, ages 12 and 10, on a flight and was headed back to the US. ... NY Post

As I posted above, people actually called in bomb threats about Ted's flight. This is insane, optics or not.

To anyone joining in the manufactured outrage re Ted's trip, ask yourselves:

WWTD?

Does anyone here think Trump would obsequiously grovel to the hostile media for his actions? He'd just let them stew in their own juices, and y'all were always fine with that. But the long knives are out for Ted, and I'm not sure why.

Of course bomb threats are insane @mountaineer   But this isn't the topic of this thread.  This thread is about the political wisdom of Ted Cruz choosing to take a vacation in Mexico during the same time Texans are dying from no electricity during an artic blast.

Unless you're deliberately trying to muddy the waters away from this discussion, why not start a separate thread to discuss the bomb threats?  I know you know how.

It won't matter...either way...McConnell and his gang of Republican swamp rats will work against him just as hard whether this had happened or not.

Exactly.  McConnell and Cruz have been at odds since Cruz won his seat. I find it disheartening that so many people attack Cruz after he had stood up for Trump time and time again. I find it disheartening that so many people attack him and he is the one person that is truly a conservative.

This whole catastrophe that Cruz went some place warm to escape an ice storm that shut down most of the state is absurd.  No different then escaping a hurricane. He's supposed to stay in harm's way?  Why?  Just in case he wants to run for President?

He is the one person who has stood up for Trump time and time again.  He did so, because he felt he was correct and what he was doing was for the good of the country.

The left continues to wage their war.  They hate Cruz as well and always have.  I don't see Ted running in 2024 and I don' think he has any intention of running, considering the increased division in the Republican party itself and the ballot box is completely broken.  I think once his term is up, he will leave; if he doesn't do so before then.

This drama only comes up because the left and the GOPe would like nothing more than to be rid of him.  He's the only conservative left that represents any sort of a problem for them.

The GOP is dead.  I'm sure Cruz sees the writing on the wall.

The left already has asked for him to resign.  He stood up for Trump; not acceptable to the left and the GOPe.  He has a target on his back now and the MSM will continue to hound him.
