Congressional Democratic leaders are considering a permanent, military-style barrier around the U.S. Capitol even as we learn that 7,000 National Guard soldiers and airmen will stay another month in the city and 5,000 troops will thereafter remain indefinitely.

Capitol Hill under the Democrats looks more like the infamous crossing, Checkpoint Charlie, between East and West Berlin when the communists controlled Eastern Europe.

Actually, you can’t even get close to the Capitol. Eight-foot fencing topped by razor-wire cordons off streets up to four blocks away. Around the clock, National Guard servicemembers in military fatigues with automatic weapons stand at 20-yard intervals. The Pentagon is now projecting that the federal government will spend $483 million in security costs at the U.S. Capitol. It’s a scene worthy of a third-world dictatorship, not the United States of America.

Wait until Americans find out that Congress and the new government coup want their military style fortress D.C. to be manned by U.N. troops, because obviously they do not trust Americans to fire on fellow Americans to protect their corrupt sorry asses. If the politicians are so afraid of the reaction of the American people to their malfeasance and corruption that they have to hide behind walls, barricades and troops than maybe they shouldn't be Congress...men....women......critters? and Senators. Mike Royko of the Chicago Tribune, back in the mid-70's, when the Feminazis were begining to get busy pretending sex didn't exist in language and wanted to call Congressmen Congresspersons, wrote a column that eventually settled on Congress Critters.

I wish I had a copy of that one.

I did not know that. I have heard of Royko of course,but don't think I ever read any of his columns. Yet I have been calling them Congress Critters for as long as I can remember. It just seemed like such an obvious fit.

Royko died a long time ago.   He was a left-of-center columnist, who if writing today would be considered a right-wing extremists.

IMHO...if they want to keep troops there...they have the Old Guard on Ft. Myer.  The Marines at 8th and I Sailors at the Navy Yard and Zoomies at Bolling.

Put them out there and let these National Guard troops go home.  The Progs have created an insulated zone of exclusion from reality with these troops...and they don't give a crap about the hardship it puts on them and their families.
