Matt Gaetz Floats Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for 2024 Presidential Run

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) floated Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Sunday as a possible 2024 presidential candidate.

Gaetz suggested during an interview on Fox News that the Biden administration is trying to defame him in anticipation of a potential run four years from now, WFLA reported.

“What Ron DeSantis didn’t say, which is the truth, is that the Biden folks know that if Donald Trump is not the candidate in 2024, the leader of our movement will be Ron DeSantis,” he said.

“He is a strong potential presidential candidate in 2024. The Biden team knows that, and so they’re trying to somehow cast aspersions on the Florida experience because you know what, throughout America, there’s a lot of Florida envy right now,” Gaetz continued.

However, Gaetz tweeted Sunday that former President Donald Trump is more likely to be a candidate in 2024 than President Joe Biden, and “everyone on both sides knows it”:

DeSantis would be top choice IMO. TRUMP get more of the same. His JARED Problem, No Draining of the SWAMP. He will hire the SWAMP Critters like last time. Will try and kiss up to the RINOS only to get sabotaged AGAIN. De SANTIS on the other hand will NOT hire the SWAMP, No Relatives that run the country and we need a NEW FACE that does not have a identity problem. TRUMP had his shot and although he was good he could have done a lot better . If he takes the SWAMP out (RINOS) even a couple he would be in the WH today. :amen:

The swamp moved heaven and earth to get Trump.  That tells you just how right Trump was and he accomplished things other could and would not.  You don't need much more than that to figure it out.  Other alternatives are highly likely to be deep Staters, as they are desperate to not have another Trump problem.  Remember the extreme deep Staters went to this last election?   DON'T FORGET IT!  TRUMP TERRIFIES THEM.

If DeSantis is reelected, he seems well positioned.  But so did Christie at one point.  Let's see how he fares with being targeted.
