Kinzinger calls for people with info on Trump to come forward
By Juliegrace Brufke - 02/13/21 12:21 PM EST Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) is calling for officials with knowledge of former President Trump’s involvement in inciting the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol to come forward with whatever information they may have.
"I think there's a lot of people that know things. I don't know who they are. They're sitting on information, now's the time to come forward," Kinzinger, one of Trump’s most vocal critics and one of the 10 House GOP lawmakers to vote in favor of impeachment, told ABC News on Saturday.
His comments come shortly after the Senate voted to allow for witnesses in the impeachment trial on Saturday. The Senate took that step after GOP Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (Wash.) released a statement saying that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told her Trump sided with the insurrectionists during the riot.
