Former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley issued stunning remarks breaking with former President Trump, telling Politico in an interview published Friday that she believes he “let us down.”

“We need to acknowledge he let us down,” Haley, who served in her ambassador role under Trump, said. “He went down a path he shouldn’t have, and we shouldn’t have followed him, and we shouldn’t have listened to him. And we can’t let that ever happen again.”

Haley’s remarks are her strongest yet against the former president in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot and come as Trump's legal team is set to defend the former president on Friday in his second Senate impeachment trial.

The House impeached the former president for a second time shortly after the riots, saying his unsubstantiated claims of widespread voter fraud following his election loss to President Biden and his comments earlier that day incited the mob that stormed the Capitol.

The former South Carolina governor told Politico that she has not spoken with Trump since the mob attack, further expressing her disappointment with remarks Trump gave at a rally ahead of the riot condemning his own vice president, Mike Pence.

Its not vengeful as much as it is reluctant to support anyone who puts their party over their country.

These fools that are stabbing knives in Trumps' back seem to think they have a political future by doing this. I don't know what universe they live in, but in my world Trump supporters will not back these people ever again. You would think these Pubs learned from the GA. Senate races, but they didn't. In GA., in addition to the election fraud, the Rat senators won because Trump supporters didn't vote for Purdue and Loeffler after their weak support of Trump.

Haley never had a thing I could discern.  Loyalty is not much in evidence.  Trump did not spawn much of that largely because he surrounded himself with Bush and Obama folks.  No mystery.

I would say Haley just shot herself in the foot, and destroyed a political career that did not exist.  Trump brought her back in the game, and she just ended it for herself.  NO DAMN LOSS WHATSOEVER.

Lindsey Graham is trying to introduce Nikki Haley to big political donors and it’s not going well.

The ambitious former ambassador the United Nations released a calculated break from President Trump the same day his defense begins in the sham impeachment trial.

The problem: Haley is as unpopular among donors as she is among Republican voters.

“Lindsey Graham is making this pitch for Nikki Haley and he’s calling around to people to ask if they will meet with her,” said Richard Baris, director of Big Data Poll.

“These donors are angry and they do not want to sit down with Nikki Haley,” he said.

“I guess she forgot to mention this to Politico,” Baris added.

Baris said his sources tell him Haley, Graham, and other establishment Republicans have been planning for more than a year how to break the GOP away from President Trump.

Stephen K. Bannon said it won’t work. “She will never be the 2024 nominee. She will never be president,” he said.
