Gas up 18% since election, could surpass $4 under Biden
by Paul Bedard, Washington Secrets Columnist |
 | February 11, 2021 08:23 AM

By the time America gets back to work, and traffic jams, gas prices under the Biden administration could be heading back to $4 thanks to new climate regulations, the president’s shutdown of energy mining on federal lands, and overseas production cuts.

Industry experts believe that as the coronavirus vaccine becomes widely available, offices will start to fill up, as will gas stations.

But the supply may not be there because of production cutbacks, Biden’s new rules, and moves overseas to slow production to match low usage.

The result could be an “oil price trap” for the new president, according to Steven Kopits, the managing director of Princeton Energy Advisors.

I wish. We’re knocking on the $4 door already here on the west coast. It’s gonna go up much higher than that.

Continuously raising the cost of gas will push people into electric vehicles.  This will push auto companies to convert as the value of current vehicles plummets.  How many jobs will be lost?

It'll be interesting; school buses, RV's, cargo trucks, semis, etc., all electric in the future?

We're hovering right around $2.40/gal.

Gee ... good thing minimum wage is going up otherwise people wouldn't be able to afford to drive to their low paying jobs.  *****rollingeyes*****

Yeah, but over $1 of that is idiotically induced taxes...especially thanks to the simpletons who rejected Prop 6 a couple of years back.   9999hair out0000

I laugh  about the assertions gas will be over four bucks by the end of Biteme's term.  It'll be there before this Fall.
For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

Ya mean.... the low paying jobs that our newest arrivals from SotB will be given, along with all that Covid-relief stimulus cash?

Remember the good ole Jimmy days, when people had to wait in long lines to get gas?  We'll see that under Biteme too, along with double digit inflation.  Anyway that he can destroy this country, he will absolutely do it.

It is refershing to see my neighbor across the street from me still has a large Trump 2020 sign hanging from his door and kitty-cornered from me my neighbor is still flying a Trump flag and now also has a 'Don't Tread on Me Flag'.  There's 4 of us in this corner ... new construction between us ... we'll see ... maybe they won't be able to sell because they'd be surrounded by evil Trumpsters... happy77

I have a similar situation.   Next door neighbors are Trump supporting Christians.   At the end of the block, another one of us.  And a couple of blocks away are two families, Trump-supporting Christians.    There may be other Christians in the neighborhood, but, we are definitely outnumbered re: the Trump supporting part.

I remember,  and I remember 1973 too.  In both cases the price doubled almost overnight.

If the demo-communist "greenunists" get their way, it's going WAY UP more than "$4".

I reckon they'll try to push through some national "carbon tax" on motor fuel to the tune of somewhere between $6-10 per gallon.

Or... propose a national "road usage" tax (or get compliant states to do their bidding) to the equivalent of that.

Or... both.

We'll probably be seeing gas prices up around $8-12 or more by 2024, or sooner.

I do not make these predictions in jest.

You remember how the left "Cass Sunstein nudged" people into stopping smoking by making cigs unaffordable?   They'll do the same thing with fossil fueled vehicles.   They're insane with power... and they love to dictate how people can or can't live their lives.

The most telling thing about it is that is happening in the dead of winter when gas prices are typically at their lowest. We haven't even begun to change over to the summer formula yet, and that drives up has prices even further every spring.

Buckle up.

That was way too much of a leap.

Rising cost of gas will either restrain some people from driving as much (some will have no choice but to eat the added cost as they need to drive).

Or it will cause people to consider more fuel efficient vehicles, like a car rather than a truck.

Or it might just cause people to relocate money from other spending areas to support more costs toward gasoline. Do we really need that 85" tv?

Don't look toward EVs to be the typical vehicle people will drive for decades.

And maybe longer when people buy them and realize they are so much more expensive to operate and maintain than IC vehicles, as well as vastly inferior performance and range, they will circle back to the IV cars.
