Here’s what Sen. Joe Manchin says about switching parties to GOP

By Samuel Chamberlain

July 1, 2021 | 9:04pm | Updated

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said Thursday that he had “never considered” switching his party affiliation to the Republicans, despite drawing ire from far-left Democrats over his opposition to scrapping the legislative filibuster.

“If switching a party, or whether you have a ‘D’ by your name or an ‘R’ by your name changes who you are as a person, then you’re in the wrong profession, and it’s all about you and not about the oath you take to the office, the oath to the Constitution, to protect and defend,” Manchin told Fox News’ “Special Report”. “That shouldn’t be a party affiliation, that should be all of us.”

Manchin, a former West Virginia governor who is currently the only Democrat holding statewide office in The Mountain State, described himself to host Bret Baier as “fiscally responsible and socially compassionate.”

Let's wait and see which way he goes on the filibuster.

Agreed!  We will see what he does, if the Rats actually try it.

Meanwhile, we can make book.  I have $20 that says he votes to kill it outright, and $100 that he'll vote to weaken the Filibuster, by either reducing the threshold from 60 votes to 55, or forcing floor debates to keep a Filibuster going.  Bets are a Push if the Rats never try it because they know they don't have the votes.

Reminder from Spectator:  Manchin Previews His Filibuster Flip-Flop
His pledge to preserve this crucial Senate rule is just as worthless as his promise not to vote for S 1

Joe Manchin is a Fake, from American Greatness.
Quote
... Now take another look at Manchin’s op-ed: He writes that the bill known as S.1, the “For the People Act,” is too partisan. He could never support such a measure. What this country really needs is genuine but moderate voting reform that brings us together as a nation. Voting reform like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. He actually names the legislation in his piece.

S.1 was never meant to be passed. It was not even meant to be taken seriously. It was meant to make the John Lewis Voting Rights Act look moderate by comparison, so that when Manchin throws his weight behind it (and behind whatever procedural, filibuster-destroying move is necessary to get it passed) Manchin can use his phony “moderate” credentials to present it to America as a compromise. ...

It’s all about what puts scrilla in Joe’s pocket. Just like the rest of the grifters in DC.

The rest is just boob bait for the voters.

Joe's like the rest of them: never held a real job, has always been in politics, but worth millions.

Democrats don't identify with being democrat, that's why they often lock-step vote 100%, and Republicans bi-partisan far too often, see, theres no difference and democrats wouldn't lie about that, esp on a daily basis!

Anyone saying Joe really is an "R" in Dem clothing has no clue what this bum is all about.

It matters not that he has a 'D' next to his name.  What matters is that he voted for Chuck Schumer for Senate Majority leader, and that he voted for the January spending spree that is now bringing on bigtime inflation.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

He also voted for Cloture of the Corrupt Politicians Act, AKA S1, after declaring he would not.

That goes for the vast majority of those in Congress regardless if they have an "R" next to their name or a "D";  they're liberal bums!
