My God man, if George Washington favored a spending bill, you'd want him fired as General of the Continental armies. Jefferson was soft on the French....let's toss him out with the bathwater too.
To the tune of FIFTEEN no make that DAMN NEAR TWENTY FRIGGIN TRILLION DOLLARS, damn right I would throw him out.
Trump fought...like a hell cat...
No, he flailed - And failed, bigtime... All gone. In good part because he was unable to play nice with others, and in some part for trusting the murder Turtle... Bit he failed alright. Part of what he promised was that he could make good deals - And that is truly false. He couldn't even get his own party in line. You can blame that on everyone else if you like... but at some point you will have to realize that he said he could do it and then did not. And because of it, anything worth a crap he did is now gone, because he could not get his own to write and pass the laws.
And he so incensed the other side, they were so pissed off, that they came out in hordes to take him out - Mainly because of his big mouth, as he really didn't do much lasting *at all*
I get that you hate conservatives who are imperfect, who are not fiscally conservative to the extent you want them to be, but not supporting him may have allowed those who want to END this Republic into full power.
Yeah, I heard the very same thing from the Romulans and the Mc Cainiacs before them. Always with the same messianic strains. If it's coming, then let it come, while we still have the means to fight it... And not kick the can down to my grands that may well not be anywhere near capable by then... Because y'all ain't been stopping nothing. Y'all ain't won a lick. And with all the compromise y'all seem willing to swallow, there won't be anything left to fight for, or with.
There is plenty to compromise on PAST upholding the things you were damn well put in there to do. The whole idea is that nobody goes under the bus. That means, fight like hell for ALL conservative principles. That didn't come anywhere close to happening, so... Seeya. Didn't believe he could (or would), and that was true. And I wasn't being prescient. It was plain the minute he snuggled up to Turtle.
If nothing else, the enemy of my enemy is my friend...you've let the Mongol horde into the city because the mayor was a big spender. That's not conscience, its national suicide.
He is not the enemy of my enemy. He's a NYC liberal. And he ran all my friends out of politics through his administrative revolving door. Now there are even less conservatives than before - all defamed, all politically wasted. Wrecked by none other than Tumpy. And Turtle.
And smokinjoe...I DAMN sure get what you're saying...I want the right to find a way to unite and fight back against this Socialist monstrosity. But if each of us...because of the dictates of our conscience...will ONLY vote for "our guy" with whom we agree on every point of conservative thought...we are doomed to division and defeat. If we're all "take my ball and go home" conservatives like roamer...if we don't get EXACTLY 100% of what we think is best/right...than we might as well just change USA to CCCP.
No one is looking for 100%... I'd be well satisfied at 85%. But I got nearly nothing. AGAIN.
The nation has fallen to Socialism, and here we are quibbling about who's fiscally conservative ENOUGH and who is EXACTLY in alignment with EVERY aspect of conservatism as EACH of us defines it. As he said...a candidate must meet ALL of HIS criteria to earn his vote. If each of us takes that same position, we will NEVER coalesce around ANY candidate....and we will most assuredly always lose.
Well yours obviously meet all your criteria too... and the same with everyone. And we are not to 'coalesce around a candidate'. By it's very definition, the Conservative Coalition coalesces around a set of principles. That's what it's damn well there for. The candidate is incidental except in that he adheres to those principle things. ALL of them.
What roamer did was the equivalent of picking up his fiddle and playing away whilst Rome burned...and burn it did. Are we all going to keep acting with such madness on the Right?
I did no such thing. I simply refused my endorsement to a candidate and party that didn't deserve it. That is what 'voting your conscience' IS. There must be consequences for bad actions, or there is nothing. That is the problem with voting for anything at all in fear of others. The end product of lesser evil is exactly as you see - A worthless party, incapable of any fight at all. So why,, tell me, should I vote for that?
