Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36) Introduces H.R.140, Birthright Citizenship Act

Thu, JAN 7th 2021 @ 11:24 am EST

Congressman Brian Babin (R-Texas-36) introduced H.R.140, “To amend section 301 of the Immigration and Nationality Act to clarify those classes of individuals born in the United States who are nationals and citizens of the United States at birth,” to the new Congress on January 4th.

This legislation, if passed, would amend the 1952 Immigration and Nationality Act to prevent children born to illegal-alien parents in the United States from automatically receiving U.S. citizenship, following a more true interpretation of the 14th Amendment.

The Birthright Citizenship Act would restrict the granting of automatic citizenship to newborns who have at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Good Dr. Babin. Sadly it's like being the last Alamo Defender, and your loading your last musket ball.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

Exactly.  No chance whatsoever of it being passed....the time for bringing this up and getting it passed was when the GOP had the majority in both Houses ... they blew their chance and Ryan/McConnell would have found a way to stomp on it anyways.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Republicans sure are tigers when there’s no chance of them being effective.
